📝 Description

Gitify pops up with update notifications A LOT. Sometimes a couple of times a day. While I'm glad you're pushing updates so regularly, it'd be great if there was a setting to make the update process quieter and/or less frequent. Perhaps a dropdown with automatically update daily/weekly/monthly, and an option for not at all.

Thanks for all the hard work on the app though, love it.

Thanks for the kind word, @davenicoll-slalom - it's certainly come a long way over the past ~12-18 months.

We do try to balance our update/release cycle against the value each release brings to the users. More recently we landed some pretty significantly refactors around how we better manage GitHubs API quotas, along with a few bug-fix releases.

Re: the automated update process, we currently run this check on app startup, and thereafter daily - which if available, will automatically downloads the new version and prompts the user for a app-restart. We could explore adding an option for users to change the frequency as you suggested.

PRs always welcome, though, we'd have an inception-like moment about when to release this version haha
