Image search doesn't find latest images for e.g. Fedora or Debian

I am a bit confused. When I search for "Fedora" or "Debian", it doesn't find the latest images.

However, I can enter "fedora" (lower-case!) or "debian" and click on Custom:

This will then magically retrieves the URL registry.fedoraproject.org/fedora:latest.

Mabye I don't know how to correctly use DistroShelf, but that is confusing for me because:

• I thought Custom means to enter a custom image URL.
• I don't understand why I can't just select the latest image for the distribution.
