Reset admin password

Hi all,

I'm stick at the login page as I just lost my login / password. The "password lost" function doesn't work (see other issue on this) so I'd like to know how I could reset these values and gain access back.

I can't remember exactly how I fixed this when I did something similar - I vaguely remember a php artisan command that allowed the password to be reset for a user, but I could be wrong.
In any case, adding another admin user and then using that account to change your password should work for you. You'll need to exec into the running Bookstack container.

Unfortunately, I managed to create a new admin account with the php artisan bookstack:create-admin commande (non-interactive mode, to avoid any typing error), the system returned "successfully created!" but using the credentials to login fails once again! I got the same error message (translated from French)"Those credentials doesn't match with any account.".

I then tried to overwrite the original admin with php artisan bookstack:create-admin --initial and got the message Non-default admin user already exists. Skipping creation of new admin user., so I assume the overwrite failed. I probably need to delete the second admin for the command to be accepted...

Is there any way to clear the users database and create a brand new admin?

Maybe try running this without special characters (if your password did contain non-alphanumeric), to ensure that they are not being misinterpreted via the command line.
Also, Ensure that the login form shows "Email" as the top field (if LDAP is configured to be used these fields won't work).

Thanks, I stripped all special characters off the pwd and eventually managed to log in!
